OOPI Methodology

The Out-of-Pocket Index (OOPI) uses dispensed-price primary data from PHARMAX, an HSA Singapore licensed pharmacy. Each row in the index reflects the actual retail price at which PHARMAX dispenses the molecule, not an aggregated or modeled price.

Data collection

Prices are drawn from the PHARMAX published product catalog, updated monthly. Currencies: USD (base), GBP, CAD, CHF, AED. Non-USD prices converted at issue-date ECB mid-rate.

Coverage

OOPI 2026-06 covers 44 molecules across 8 categories: GLP-1 / Weight Loss, ED, Hair, Cognitive / ADHD / Wakefulness, Mental Health, Cardio, BP / Diabetes / Thyroid, and Hormones.

Conflict of interest disclosure

PHARMAX is both the publisher of OOPI and a vendor (dispenser) in the dataset. This is self-disclosed on each issue page. The data is primary-source dispensed-price, not aggregated from third-party retailers.
